The American Dream Park was open from 1996 to 2001. It’s location way out in the far reaches of Shanghai was probably the greatest factor in its closing. I visited the ghost park in September by way of a one-hour bus ride from central Shanghai. Getting into the property was easy – I paid a security guard 50RMB and was free to wander around. Bulldozers were dozing all around me, but there was still a significant portion of the park that hasn’t been demolished. Click below for some 35mm pictures of my explorations….
